You unpack the archive you downloaded and put the folder there in to Steam\SteamApps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\addons

I've done that... Just unzip the file and paste the folder (vaako_characters) into your addons folder.

I think this is what I was missing. EDIT: This was missing, I had installed it correctly. Also, the anal_spread is broken. Maybe this is just me, or is anybody else getting this?

I might be 11 days late since the last comment, and I know I'm a newbie to the forums, but I'd like to plug in and say I'm really looking forward to a Gmod release of the human version of Soria. I'm aware of being able to trade the textures, but the long ears poking off the sides of her head are rather non-human. In any case, looking forward to it! EDIT: I recently attempted my own decompiling, editing, and recompiling of this model in the hopes that I could create a human version on my own, but I ran into numerous errors while recompiling with StudioCompiler by Cannonfodder and GUIStudioMDL by Wunderboy. Notably: Too many flexes (max 64) [both compilers] Cannot find bone LeftBreast2A for bbox (bounding box) [both compilers] If anyone else is in the process of creating this, or has had better luck, or if Vaako's in the works, I eagerly await new results.

So after tons of requests, I finally compiled this model for G-mod! This is the super-fancy one for SFM, and if you ever plan on using this character, I suggest you never EVER touch the old one again, as this one is a direct upgrade in every way possible. The Extended Faceposer tool is REQUIRED for this model! While technically useable without it, most of the flexes will not work, and it will be very difficult to even make facial expression you want. Here is a workshop link to the extended faceposer: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =148090220 The model also contains a whole bunch of bodygroups, and I would highly reccomend getting the bodygroup tool to be able to change her bodygroups, as well as being able to switch to her tattoo skingroup. The G-Mod version does leave something to be desired in comparison to the SFM one. In SFM there are tons of helper bones you can use to smooth out every part of her body, to allow for some extreme limb bending without unwanted deformation. This isn't an option in G-Mod, so you're going to have to bare with it. Also, the jigglebones do not work in G-mod, but that shouldn't really be a problem seeing as how G-Mod is a posing program. Anyway, have fun, and I hope I don't see the old crappy one get used anymore! Backstory: Developed by the Liandri corporation to fight in the tournaments, as well as to become a saboteur and infiltration specialist, Soria was inadvertently sprung by a group of Axon mercenaries raiding Liandri's cloning complex. Angry with her creators, she vowed revenge. Her unique traits are superior physical strength, natural pheromones which allow her to persuade both males and females, as well as being incredibly nimble and flexible. Over-augmentation of her genetic makeup caused unexpected physical side effects, such as her blue tinted skin and thorns.

Thanks Vaako for considering us lowly Gmod users :-P It was depressing to sit with the old version and see the new one in all it's splendor. Now we are up to date :great:

Thank you, DNA! This was a great help. For anyone that can't follow the image. You have to take the contents of the Soria/soria folder and put them in the Soria folder, so there's no duplicate path that confuses the game.

Nice! One question though. Are the eyes supposed to look like this, or is there a broken/missing texture? The eyes look a little too grey.

Yes, they are meant to be a bit gray. However the crackle in her eyes is not intentional. It's actually sort of a nightmare. When I created the phonemes for the model so it could use lip-sync, I unintentionally messed up a weld on the mesh of her eyes, which causes that stupid discrepancy to show up now. So if I wanted to fix it, I'd have to redo all 32 of the phoneme flexes... which I'm not exactly keen on doing, seeing as it's a minor problem at best.

Yay, my PC explodes when I load her icon. + Meh, we can pose her breasts with Joint tool I guess.

What exactly did you change? I put the phys constraints to basically the believable maxs and mins without the model horrendously breaking.

While we're still on the discussion on Soria's eyes, I just figured out a simple fix to make her eyes white. Step 1: Access the "Eyes" folder following this path from your Program Files. \Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\addons\vaako_characters\materials\models\characters\soria\Eyes Step 2: While in the "Eyes" folder, be sure to create a "Backup" folder just in case you wish to revert Soria to having dark eyes again. After that, copy only these four files and paste them into your "Back Up" folder: eye-iris-cyan.vtf eye-iris-cyan2.vtf eye-iris-purple.vtf eye-iris-purple2.vtf Step 3: Once you have those 4 files backed up, return back to the "Eyes" folder and delete these two files: eye-iris-cyan2.vtf eye-iris-purple2.vtf After that, you need to rename these two files: eye-iris-cyan.vtf renamed to eye-iris-cyan2.vtf eye-iris-purple.vtf renamed to eye-iris-purple2.vtf That's it! You're done! Now exit, fire up your GMod and enjoy a nice bright white-eyed Soria for all your pleasures abound. Oh, and if you do want Soria's eyes dark again, simply copy the files from the "Backup" folder and paste them back in the "Eyes" folder. Hope this helps. :)

I am so sorry for not fixing this earlier, since some people had the model working fine, I assumed it was a series of localized issues. However I guess other users fixed the issue themselves without saying anything. The path is now correct, and I'm sorry I did not look into it sooner.

Are you using a hacked version of Gmod? Also what are your system specs? The model is a bit resource intensive.

Hey Vaako, I just love your model xD Its working fine for me awesome job but her eyes in Gmod look so dark and on others screenshots i see her eyes or fine. Maybe cause its from Source Film Maker i don't know but i whas hoping maybe you know, or someone else about this thing. Is it that its not working proper with the workshop NPC of Soria or the Assassin Suit or Pirate version. Hope to hear from someone.

After that, copy only these four files and paste them into your "Back Up" folder: eye-iris-cyan.vtf eye-iris-cyan2.vtf eye-iris-purple.vtf eye-iris-purple2.vtf Step 3: Once you have those 4 files backed up, return back to the "Eyes" folder and delete these two files: eye-iris-cyan2.vtf eye-iris-purple2.vtf After that, you need to rename these two files: eye-iris-cyan.vtf renamed to eye-iris-cyan2.vtf eye-iris-purple.vtf renamed to eye-iris-purple2.vtf That's it! You're done! Now exit, fire up your GMod and enjoy a nice bright white-eyed Soria for all your pleasures abound. Oh, and if you do want Soria's eyes dark again, simply copy the files from the "Backup" folder and paste them back in the "Eyes" folder. Hope this helps. :)

Vaako said human version +trishka will be upped shortly. That was a few months ago though. and he ignored my questions about those so it could indicate there won't be such things?

It has nothing to do with malice, I assure you. I was, however, fairly ill for a long time, including a cancer scare. My big issue with compiling models for Gmod is that the SDK I used for compiling orangebox models no longer works, thanks to Valve. I had to do some obnoxious behind-the-scenes jerry-rigging to compile this version for G-Mod, and I had to make those changes to Windows itself, which prevented me from compiling for SFM, so I removed those changes. I have not taken the time since to figure out how I fixed it before, and it hasn't been a huge priority for me, I will admit.

Last time I had this model, the only face posing problem that I had was no anal spread. As of yesterday I had absolutely no boob smoosh, boob resize, pussy spread, ect, :dunno: the only posing that worked was the actual facial features. Is this a problem with Gmod14 or is the file messed up some other way. Please get back to me on this, I really need her "Face" posing for some projects of mine. P.S. NEED HUMAN VERSION ASAP. :rrrr:

That is pretty strange, especially considering that I have not touched the GMOD archive for this file since I uploaded it. Can anyone else confirm issues within GMOD? Is it possible that the extended Faceposer addon is no longer working properly?

Ah but there's my dilemma. I tried it without the extended faceposer. Originally I didn't use it and it worked fine. This time around no such luck, with or without the extended faceposer. might be Gmod 14, so its not that im blaiming you I'm just saying that I had a problem.
