From what I understand Gmod has changed location, you might want to look for a fresh install within your steam folders. The trick I did to locate my Gmod was to check the processes running and open the file location, that's when I realized my Gmod was running from my Second account instead of the first. I own 2 Gmod's on 2 different Steam accounts, but since the update both games run out of the same location. To bad, I used to have different models on different folders to help loading time.

Had the same problem. Remove any old installation files you may have left. I did after reinstalling Gmod. The new install location is under Steam\SteamApps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod I wiped any trace of the old installation and un-subscribed (re started Gmod) and subscribed to legacy addon again. Then it was working fine.

i know this topic is a little old, but my gmod installation is still the same. been having a bit of trouble rendering icons for certain legacy addons but other than that no trouble. i was just curious, wondering if maybe the install directory was the root cause. because mine is \Steam\SteamApps\username\garrysmod\garrysmod i dont know if that is a bad thing or not.

The old installation worked for me to, but upon a reinstall of Gmod, the new path will be Steam\SteamApps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod It went fairly painless. A few model issues got fixed, others broken. But more or less the same.

Yes, I know this is an uber necro-post, but there are so few topics here, I figured it would be nice to keep the list short. That, and the title applies. This morning, when I went to launch Garrys Mod, it loaded way quicker than usual. The usual 10-20 second hang after the main menu loads was gone as well. So were a random assortment of my mods. Some new ones were still there, but the majority were not. Upon restarting, I noticed that about half of my Steam Workshop mods were missing, most importantly, the Extended Spawnmenu addon. I'm assuming that is the root of all my issues today. Is this a known bug or just me?

This is due to a Steam update. While waiting for a fix the workaround to this is to start Steam in offline mode and then run Gmod. You will have all the addons back, also the ones from workshop.

Ah thanks, couldn't find a solid answer elsewhere. Thanks again.

why didn't I think of that? It sure beats having to unsubscribe and resubscribe to each addon every damn time I start it up. (my method does work, but it's a pain in the ass)
