Simple Spawnlist Creator for gmod13

At first I want to apologize if this is not the right section of the forum, but I could not figure out the best place to post this. So feel free to move the topic ;) . The last days I created a simple and easy spawnlist creator for gmod because I found it hard to write the text files all on my own. The little program should be pretty much self explaining. I hope you guys find this useful. Let me know if there are any problems!

How it works

first, i just want to say. love this, it is exactly what i have been looking for since the gmod 13 update. the way spawnlists work now just pisses me off. that being said, Im gonna test this out right now. thanks in advance. [Edit] Do you think there is a way you can make the app able to edit already made spawnlists as well? also one more little gripe, if at all possible, could you make it so that you can paste the model directory pathway into the list? other than that, this thing is pretty neat.

Thank you Orin! "Small" update: Download Version 1.1 You can import folders ( it will search for all *.mdl files - warning, may take the process some time to unfreeze again if you scan huge folders ) and already existing spawnlists now. What exactly do you mean with " paste the model directory pathway into the list". Sorry I don't get your point there! Have fun! Edit: Damn, just noticed the typo in the background image. Will fix that in the next release :) .

Thank you SILENCE :) . Orin: Do you mean if the mdl-file is not located in the "models" folder? You can add models from your addons folder as well. It will work just fine if there is an "addon.txt" in the addon-directory of our model. I don't know if the model will work if it is located somewhere completely else. But I think it is not too difficult to install your models as addons or paste them directly in the "models" and "material" folders. I hope you get my point ;) .

thanks for the response, sorry i was not a bit speedier in replying. i have all my addons in the addons folder so that is not the issue. what i meant like when you right click a model in game and copy it's file path. so that you can just paste it into your list maker app.

Oh, now I get it ;) . Should not be too difficult. I will give it a try and release an updated version soon. Any other ideas for the program? EDIT: Aaaaand update :D : DOWNLOAD

this thing is really nifty as far as being able to add models quickly goes, barring a restart because the in game spawnmenu does not update in realtime, but that is to be expected. this has made compiling the weapon spawnlists for my TF2 stuff far easier than it was without this tool. many thanks NL gamer. now this is not a big thing, it is relatively minor, even microscopic of a problem to me. but when you load a spawnlist, then save it, in the spawnlist tree, it loses whatever traits it had before you edited(this was after restarting the game) it other than the models in the list, i can always just drag the list back into place, etc. but if there is something you can do about that, it is more than appreciated. gotta say though, thanks again for the filepath update. im just zooming through models, i should have my stuff organized within the next couple of days or so. i have a lot of models.

I'm a tiny bit of a noob so I'm just wondering.. what are spawnlists for? Do they load the models faster when in the viewing folder or something? I've noticed if you have too many models in one folder it takes at least 10 minutes to load it all.

spawnlists are a way of organizing models so you dont have to browse the garry's mod game directory, so it is considerably easier to find models you use frequently like custom models. the game already has spawnlists pre-made that show the games you have mounted like, TF2, HL2, L4D and so on. so i guess it reduces your waiting time quite a bit. but gmod already caches the spawnicons to reduce lag.
